To read these articles, you'd think the main square of Prizren was a hotbed of criminality. Shadervan is only a five-minute walk from my apartment. I'm glad that I wasn't walking through the square or sitting outside having a coffee at one of the cafes. However, even being across the river, which is where I was when it happened, is still too close (maybe only a block away, if that).
