Jupiter

Even though items such as whole wheat flour, dates, and walnuts are priced at a premium around these parts, I am glad that they are available. I've never priced the potato chips at Jupiter to see how much this form of junk food will set a wallet back, but I can say that a can of Diet Dr Pepper is 117¥ (about $1.40) and a small bag of Halloween-sized Mounds runs over 900¥ ($11+). I hope the rumors are true and that Costco is, indeed, opening up in Hiroshima in March, 2011. Although stuff is noticeably more expensive than at US Costcos, it's still much cheaper to buy bulk. Plus, Costco stocks items that can be otherwise impossible to find (like Ghirardelli chocolate chips, large packs of individually frozen halibut filets, scent-free liquid washing detergent, etc.).
