The single bomb that was dropped in 1945 did an obscene amount of damage. Every time I think about what the landscape around Hiroshima was like immediately following the explosion, I'm absolutely amazed that the citizenry were able to regroup and rebuild.

My boyfriend of 2 years, who is from Prizren, Kosovo has always loved an Albanian food called "flija"...I didn't know what flija was so I googled it...bringing me to your blog.
I hope you don't mind that I read it but I was planning on visiting Prizren that summer, so I began to read some of your entries on Kosovar life from an American perspective.
It was incredible.
I did go to Kosovo this past summer, for not quite 2 months. Your blog gave me some really great tips on places to see, and of course my boyfriend made a great tour guide as well. :)
I hope this isn't creepy, me being a stranger haha, but I always meant to come back and thank you. The places you have seen and been are truly amazing.
How you spoke about public education in Kosovo really touched my heart. If I ever do live there, which is a great possibility, I hope to put as much effort into helping the schools as you did.
Thank you for the touching comment. Prizren is very near and dear to my heart, and I hope you do have the opportunity to live there. It's a wonderful place with fantastic people. :)
Kirsten,
Isn't it amazing and wonderful how you are touching the lives of people you haven't even met, through your Blog?
"Octodays" will really get so much more out of Prizren, thanks to you.
