Of Circumcision & Fresh Milk

Previously, I posted an article about mass circumcision in a nearby village (my original post). There are shops all over Prizren that sell the special ceremonial outfits worn by boys to celebrate this particular rite. The outfit is so ornate...it's like the boys are mini pashas or something. This morning as I was walking home from the bakery, I decided to take a picture of one of the mannequins in a shop that specializes in this attire.

As I rounded the corner to my street, I noticed that there were a handful of milk-filled bottles lined up in front of the mosque. Mostly everyday there's someone either in front of the mosque or just across the street selling fresh, unpasteurized milk. I didn't see the seller, so I took a quick photo (just in case he was surly like the strawberry man). Sometimes the sellers have large 5 gallon containers filled with milk and people will bring their own reappropriated 2-liter bottles to fill. It's a good way to keep the plastic bottles out of the river, but I haven't purchased milk in this way. I stick to the pasteurized stuff imported from Slovenia.
