Obiliq is a small town just outside of Pristina and it is sandwiched between Kosovo A and Kosovo B, the two coal-fired power plants for the country. In the above photo, you can see Kosovo A on the left and Kosovo B on the right. In the photo below, you can see a small group of houses in the shadow of Kosovo B. Going through Obiliq was horrible. Everything is covered with dust, the air has a funky stench, and the haze made me a bit light headed. I can't imagine how awful it must be to live here.

When I was living in Gjakova (2002-2003), I always wondered whether the people around the power plants how they live? It always seemed to me they were the unluckiest guys in Kosovo.
