Since I've been here, I've had some conversations about birth control and family planning issues in Kosovo. The info I have is purely anecdotal (although once you collect enough anecdotes you suddenly have data points), but from what I've been able to gather, generally speaking, women are expected to be virgins when they marry (so my question is always who are the men having premarital sex with?). It is expected that married couples will have children. Birth control pills are available but are expensive (and require a trip to the doctor). Vasectomies are not done in Kosovo. Condoms are available at the supermarkets, but are sold only in packs of three and are located right next to the cash registers (I'm not sure of the price). Depending on the crowd, maybe I'll ask my conversation group next week about abortion.
