The Ophir Creek hike makes for a big day (not to be confused with Ophir Summit, which crosses the Toiyabe Crest Trail). I think it's often overlooked by area hikers. In fact, today, there was nobody else on the trail. The trail goes from Washoe Valley (the trailhead is at Davis Creek Park) on up to the Mount Rose Meadows (near the Mount Rose Highway summit). Today, the whole thing took 7 hours to walk up and back down, which is a decent amount of time. Skeena is crashed out on the bed and I'm sprawled out on the couch watching 60 Minutes.
