Graduation

On Friday ten students from the Faculty of Education graduated. There wasn't any kind of a pomp-and-circumstance type ceremony. It wasn't quite what I expected. I joined three professors in the library at noon where we listened to 10 minute demonstration lessons by each of the candidates. Grades for each student's four years of work were then determined, and after all of the paperwork was completed, the four of us joined the students and their families in a small conference room next to the administrative office where we all ate cake (well, because of Ramadan, not all of us ate cake but I did and it was pretty good).

First the grades each student received were read to the room, and then each student got up to shake our hands.

Most of the graduates are in this photo which was taken in the main entryway of the univeristy.
