Fire Curious

I can't believe how devastating the Angora Fire has already been been to South Lake Tahoe. As of this morning, over 200 structures had been burned. I've got the news on and there are scores of houses reduced to smoldering rubble (over 175 according to channel 4), burnt out cars... Ken's a bit anxious because he knows a lot of people who live there and it's been tough to contact folk. I hiked up to Mount Rose today, and the Tahoe basin was totally socked in with smoke. A lot of the smoke has not been drifting into the Reno area but into Carson Valley instead. What a mess. I passed tons of folk on the trail today, many expressing curiosity about how the Tahoe Basin was looking from the summit.

Looking down the trail towards Stampede, Boca, & Prosser Resevoirs.

Light fire haze over Reno.
