At least, the appliances were dumped alongside a paved road and not up in the Keystone Canyon area. How is dumping large, awkward trash in a random spot easier than taking it to the Transfer Station for proper disposal?
I'm a little behind on my blog reading, but since no one else has publicly answered - not easier, cheaper. Transfer station gets pretty spendy and illegal dumping is free.
