Sleep: Not So Good

What can I say about the Hotel Quest Shimizu except that I hope the breakfast served at the hotel is passable (because my sleeping experience wasn't so hot). As long as there's rice, egg, and miso soup, I'll be fine (the Japanese hotels don't do western-style breakfasts so well and I rather enjoy the Japanese-style of breakfasts). To get to sleep last night, I used my ipod to lull me into ignoring the thumps, giggles, scraping, and talking. I'm feeling like I could use a few more hours, but I'll get over it. Maybe I'll nap on the way back to Hiroshima. I have stew makin' to look forward to!

As for the Green Tea KitKat, K's verdict: not bad. The bar itself is quite thick, much more so than the US versions. Instead of four little strips you break off, it's just one big bar. The green tea coating isn't bad. It's like flavored white chocolate (the green tea bars don't have any chocolate in them at all). The inside of the KitKat is layered wafers with whatever the creamy stuff is they put on the inside (no caramel). It was okay. In terms of green tea-flavored stuff, my preference is ice cream. My super preference is the green tea ice cream sandwiches with sweet bean filling. Mmm-mmm....sweet bean filling. (The Asian market by Wendy's on 5th street had sweet bean popsicles in the freezer section during the summer....I swear that frozen sweet bean goodness isn't as weird as it sounds.)

Time to get dressed and suss out breakfast.
