Inequality in Kosovar Education

Interested in the qualitiy of education the various Kosovar ethnic groups have access to? The OSCE recent published this document:

Kosovo non-majority communities within the primary and secondary educational systems

It also gives a great overview of the Kosovar educational system. Very definitely worth at least a skim if the topics of inequality in education or minority education hold any interest for you.

The report is very interesting. The idea of not teaching current history sounds like a good one. It would also be great (for many reasons)if the parents could form PTA-like groups and do cross-cultural teaching of language for all of the kids. I now understand why you always say that 'education is everything'. You are so right!

While reading this my mind kept jumping to the song "You Have to be Carefully Taught", from Rodgers and Hammerstein's "South Pacific". The song written way ahead of it's time, before the Civil Rights movement gained popularity. While of worldwide importance, It might have been written just for that area.
